What are your membership options?
$50 for 6 months and $65 for 12 months

Do you charge per toy?
No, there is only our subscription fee.

How do I sign up?
Walk into the Koraunui Stokes Valley Toy Library with your Hutt City Libraries card and ask one of the friendly Hub staff. Fill out our membership form and choose your option and pay the fee.

What if I don’t have a Hutt City Libraries card?
No problem - bring in your Photo ID and a proof of address (e.g rates or electricity bill), fill out the form and pay the fee.

Do you accept members that reside outside of Lower Hutt?
Yes, as long as you travel to our toy library to return and borrow toys.

Do you have an option for children whom are visiting for a short period?
Yes, come and speak to our toy librarian during opening hours.

Do you have Duty Membership option?
Yes, come and speak to our Toy Librarian to see what is involved.

Do you have a connection to other toy libraries in Lower or Upper Hutt? No

Can I become a toy library member for both Wainui and Stokes Valley?
No. We use the same system, however you can be a member for either one not both.

How can I find out when my toys are due?
Log in using your online Hutt City Libraries account where it will display your toys or you can contact any of the Hutt City Libraries who can look that information up for you.

How do I register for my online Hutt City Libraries account?
You would need to come and speak to any of the Hutt City Libraries staff at the Hub or any of the Libraries around Hutt City.

Can I browse your catalogue online?
Yes, our catalogue is on http://library.huttcity.govt.nz/stokesvalleytoylibrary

Can you change the catalogue to make it easier for me to browse on?
Unfortunately as our system is linked with the Hutt City Libraries, we cannot easily alter the browsing layout or settings.

How long do we have the toys for?
3 weeks.

How many toys can I borrow?
Up to four toys at a time.

How often can I renew toys?
Up to 3 times (total of 9 weeks)

What if I break a toy?
Contact us, you may be asked to donate a small amount to repair or replace.

What if I lose one or more pieces?
Contact us. If the missing piece(s) are integral to play of the toy then you may be asked to make a small donation to replace.

Do you have overdue fees?
Yes, we charge $0.50c a day per toy.

How can I reserve a toy?
Message us via our social media or by the emailing us to place you on our toy waitlist. Note that it can be long wait as members do renew toys if they wish to keep them for a long period.

I have a party at a particular date. Can I reserve toys for that date?
We do have toys specifically for Party Hire that can be booked for a small fee (depending on availability). Contact us via email to find out more and book. Alternatively, you can visit the toy library during our opening hours to see what we have available to borrow.

Do you have to return toys to the toy library during our opening hours?
No, you can return them at the Hub during opening hours. Please take them in to be returned at the Hub counter, not in the slot outside the Hub building.

Can I return my toys to any Hutt City Library or any other toy library?
No, you must return them to either the Stokes Valley Community Hub or to our toy library during our opening hours.

How can I renew toys?
By logging into your Hutt City Libraries account or by emailing or messaging our social media pages.
